Business Description
Our head office is located in Yokkaichi, Mie, Japan and the company has over 50 years of history as a leading company in the rubber compounding business in Japan. Rubber compounds are mainly used as a raw material for the applications in the automotive, construction, home appliance, semi-conductor industries, amongst others.
Following the shift of automotive production from Japan to Asian countries in the 1990s, we have established 3 plants in China, 1 plant in Thailand and 1 plant in Indonesia. In addition to them, we have recently started a plant in Mexico to expand the business to the American market. What makes us a unique rubber compounding company is our investments in R&D. Markets
Mainly automotive parts
It is quite difficult to process fresh rubbers (such as natural rubber and synthetic rubbers) in forming, injection or extrusion. So, the compounding process is indispensable to make rubbers easy to use. Therefore, our products are used in any industry where rubber is needed.
Industry
Elastomix is a leading company in the rubber compounding business.
The rubber compounding industry consists of 2 types of businesses. One is in-house compounding in case that the parts manufacturers have facilities of rubber compounding for their captive use. Another is outsourcing compounding in case that the parts manufacturers don’t have any facilities of rubber compounding. We are in the latter business and the leading company in Japan.

Competitive Advantages
We have 3 sales offices and 3 plants in Japan and therefore, we can supply our products from the nearest plant to our client’s location.
Furthermore, we have over 50 years history of rubber compounds production, which have brought us sophisticated and quality-oriented technologies, a wide range of knowledge in raw materials and a compound formulation and reliability from our clients.
Since such technologies and knowledge have been transferred to our overseas subsidiaries, they can provide clients with the equivalent products in quality to the ones made in Japan.
Financial Projection
Sales turnover (only Japan): 15 billion Japanese Yen (as of end of March, 2017)
Company Goals & Objectives
In the short term, we are going to keep our operation in Mexico on truck as early as possible.
Towards 2020, we are aiming to achieve a 20% increase of consolidated profit compared to 2016. The geographical shift of automotive production is still ongoing and the production in the emerging countries like China and India will keep increasing. Under such forecast, our Japanese clients may spread their businesses into the countries with the establishment of new production sites. Following our clients’ strategies, we want to support their businesses for success. We believe that such support would also lead our growth.
