Background / Biography:
Yuko Takahashi was named the eleventh president of Tsuda College (now Tsuda University) in 2016. She holds a B.A. from Tsuda College, an M.A. in International Affairs from the University of Tsukuba, an M.A. in History, and a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Kansas. Her primary research areas are American studies, social history, and gender history. She is president of the International Federation for Research in Women’s History. She is also president of the Japan University Accreditation Association, a member of the board of trustees of the American Studies Foundation, and a Council Member of the Science Council of Japan. Her publications include Umeko Tsuda: A Social History and Umeko Tsuda: Pioneering Women’s Education.
