NBS Leads the Beauty Industry with Cutting-Edge Devices

As it looks to expand its global presence, the Japanese company showcases two of its flagship products, the MetaLT and the soon-to-be-released Hy Peel into.

In our last interview, you mentioned the introduction of a new device to your product line, the MetaLT. You explained that this was an original and innovative product developed by your company, the very first of its kind that no other company had ever brought to market. As the artist and creator behind this product, can you tell us about what inspired you to develop and bring MetaLT to market?

The functionality of this product was developed as a home version of our professional slimming facial machine, the Secret Scalpel. We incorporated the latest technology into our existing equipment to create MetaLT. The inspiration for MetaLT came from the fact that we were able to create a beauty device that was designed for esthetic clinics, but people wanted something they could use in the privacy of their own home.

The world is full of various beauty devices, but I realized that there was still no home-use device that could be used for the entire body, from the scalp to the soles of the feet. I myself experienced motor dysfunction and nerve paralysis due to a crushed spinal cord on the right side of my body due to overwork, to my embarrassment. This led me to change my priorities from beauty to health. As a developer, I was able to bring home a professional-grade device, the Secret Mes, which helped alleviate my symptoms immediately after leaving the hospital, a luxury I would not normally be afforded. I wanted to create a device that could be used the moment I felt fatigue or discomfort, to fill that accessibility gap, and because it can be very difficult to take care of symptoms after they occur.

Having access to the device at that moment with preventative measures in place will alleviate the stress in people's lives and lead to a healthy lifestyle. It is really important to have access to equipment before things get worse and to be able to make the most of such equipment. This is not just my experience, it is the same for most people these days, especially those who use their smartphones and computers frequently. We all experience some kind of tension or fatigue in our necks and shoulders. Having a device that is readily available at home or on the move would be of great help. This was the impetus for the development of MetaLT.

The shape of the device is also particular, and is based on the motif of the “grandson's hands” in Japan. It is shaped like a back scrubber, so that the user can take care of the back and shoulders alone, which is difficult to do with ordinary facial equipment.

 

Your company specializes in developing high-end, sophisticated products for professional use and for beauty salons, which are large in size and correspondingly high in price. In contrast, as you mentioned, MetaLT stands out as a more compact and affordable device suitable for home use. How do you leverage your expertise in creating premium, professional-grade equipment to develop affordable and effective products like the MetaLT for the consumer market?

I think our greatest strength is our ability to guarantee the features that have been offered in esthetic salons and clinics. Because of our expertise in the professional realm, we are able to incorporate those functions into consumer devices. We are able to incorporate these functions into consumer devices because, while treatments at esthetic salons and clinics are highly effective, just a few minutes of simple daily care can make anyone feel “the most beautiful they have ever felt!” So, we wanted to create a device that allows people to easily take care of themselves, even if they are not professionals.

Our particular attempt was to gather feedback from professional salons using our device. We gained a deep understanding of what our clients really wanted and felt would be most beneficial.

For safety reasons, the output is lower than that of the professional Secret Mes, but the frequency is the same as the professional version, so it can reach deeper into the skin.

 

MetaLT is the industry's first home-use thermal fractional mode. This is an esthetic version of the menu performed in clinic menus. Developed through extensive research, MetaLT embodies five key elements: ease of use, effectiveness, aesthetics, comfort, and versatility. Can you describe in detail the unique features of this product? Can you also describe how the MetaLT actually works?

MetaLT is the first of its kind in the world to be certified by a third-party organization! The most unique feature of MetaLT is its thermal fractional mode, which can be applied even with makeup on, and allows you to immediately feel the tightening of pores and lifting of the skin. The surface that hits the skin is made of 24-karat gold to ensure safety for your precious skin. Since it penetrates to the inside of the skin, it is highly effective in tightening the skin and pores, counteracting wrinkles on the neck and at the corners of the eyes, and improving the firmness of the back of the hands and cheeks.

When performed at an esthetic salon, it is classified as thermal cooling and costs about 80,000 yen. Since it is expensive and there is downtime, you can use this product at esthetic salons whenever you feel like it.



Can you tell us about the other modes this product offers?

The RF, EP, and EMS modes can be used by changing to the stainless steel head and spraying the included METAELTISKIN over the head. The product is designed to automatically switch between these functions for optimal treatment by simply pressing the AUTO button, so the user does not have to make any difficult choices.

The AUTO mode begins with RF mode, which helps improve blood circulation. This is ideal for the face, of course, but also for other areas of fatigue such as stiff shoulders, stiff neck, eye strain, and headaches. We have focused on the device's ability to quickly warm up the skin while pressing pressure points. MetaLT SKIN is a skin whitening infusion that contains active ingredients such as glutathione, niacinamide, arbutin, and ceramide to treat all kinds of skin problems. When the skin's metabolism is boosted by RF, EP provides the skin with a lot of nutrients necessary for the skin structure quickly, which is very efficient care. After that, EMS stimulates the muscles to fix the tightened face and memorize it in the body. The MC mode is a micro-current function that can be used to adjust the autonomic nervous system and skin tone and texture. But I want to be beautiful tomorrow.

Anyway, “beauty is not achieved in a day,” so you will want to continue using it every day! To achieve this, we have paid particular attention to the immediate effect, the feeling, the operability, and the design, and have pursued them down to the smallest detail.

 

Hy Peel into is an advanced hydrogen beauty device designed for professionals. To this you have added the beauty medical functions of Korea, which is known worldwide for its skin management treatments. Why did you decide to incorporate Korean beauty trends and functions into this product? What do you think Japan can learn from Korean beauty?

First of all, I think it is best to explain the differences between Japanese beauty and K-Beauty. The biggest difference is the size of the industry itself. The Korean beauty market is much more competitive than the Japanese market in terms of clinics, salons, and customers. Even though the population is smaller than in Japan, there are more salons and clinics, they have much more experience than in Japan, especially regarding the best equipment and beauty procedures. I think we can learn a lot from our Korean peers.

And then there is the competitive nature of the Korean market, especially the beauty market. Due to this competitive environment with many rivals, good procedures, products, and ingredients will remain in the market, while less effective ones will be weeded out, so the procedures, products, and ingredients that have existed in Korea for a long time are clearly those that have won the trust of customers due to this nature of the market. We learn from the competitive nature of that industry because reliability is understood.

I think these two facts I mentioned prove why awareness of beauty care is so high among the Korean public. Skin care is already mainstream and commonplace in Korea, and skin care is already embedded in the public's vocabulary. This presents a clear path for replicating such success in other markets such as Japan.

In this sense, the Japanese beauty market is living in the shadow of the Korean beauty market, as a large number of Japanese have been traveling to Korea for beauty treatments since the dawn of the Corona disaster. In this sense, there is much to learn from neighboring countries when it comes to beauty-related business.



Can you explain how Hy Peel into works, the results you get, and how it differs from other products on the market?

The biggest advantage is that it is possible to approach care for the inside and outside of the body at the same time with a single machine, which enables fundamental improvement. It is a machine that enables the latest skin management treatment while inhaling highly concentrated hydrogen gas for inner care.

By inhaling hydrogen, only the bad active oxygen in the body is removed, and toxins are detoxified and converted into necessary moisture. Since 90% of diseases are caused by bad reactive oxygen species, we are convinced that this will lead to the extension of the beauty and healthy life span of mankind. Furthermore, hydrogen is a naturally occurring substance that is extremely safe for the elderly, people with sensitive skin allergies, and children.

We believe that being able to approach the inside and outside of the body at the same time during the treatment time is efficient and very powerful in realizing the effects.

Scientific evidence based on urine and blood tests has also been obtained, and biomarkers have improved with the use of the machine. The machine has had a direct impact on the health of the body itself, not just the surface of the skin. Continued use of the machine is expected to improve skin quality, sleep quality, and hormonal balance.

From the outside, the function and process of the gloss skin treatment is to create a plump and resilient skin full of luster and moisture, as if the lips were covered with transparent lip gloss. The treatment process is also based on skin theory and is endorsed by a medical doctor.

First, hydrogen gas is injected from the scalp to the décolleté to remove adhesions between bones and fascia and detoxify wastes in the body. The treatment is performed with 4 types of HydraFacial, which efficiently controls ph while peeling the skin according to the skin type and area. Next, high-speed jet air pressure is used to directly inject the ingredients into the skin. Lastly, LDMs are used to increase the self-metabolism and immunity of the skin cells while retaining water.

This process is based on the skin theory and enables the fundamental improvement of skin problems while realizing a high level of change in a single session. This is truly the latest treatment that utilizes the merits of both medical treatment and cosmetic treatment.

 

MetaLT and Hy Peel into are two different products with unique applications, but both contribute to improving the consumer's beauty environment; Hy Peel into is customized for professional use, while MetaLT is designed for home use. How will the introduction of these two products help your company strengthen its product line and establish itself as an international beauty brand that meets the needs of all consumers?

Our raison d'etre as a company is, as stated in our philosophy, “to help people become the person they want to be through the power of beauty.

This is essentially the driving force behind everything we do. In order to achieve this, it is important to understand how diverse each person's skin is, and so we are committed to conducting serious research and updating our techniques, knowledge, and perspectives on a daily basis.

We believe that being confident in one's own skin and body line, without any disorder, leads to an improved sense of self-fixation, and a cheerful and relaxed feeling leads to new challenges and kindness to others, which in turn leads to a kinder and richer society. We are earnestly working to help people gain the power to like themselves through the products we have created.
