Bio

Born in Osaka in 1947, Mr Ando graduated from Keio University’s Faculty of Business and Commerce in 1971, and then started studying at Columbia University in the USA.

In 1972, he started his career at Nissin (USA) Co., Inc., and joined Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd. in 1973. He was appointed president of Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd. in 1985.

He served as captain of the “Noodle Research Team” and made a field trip through Central Asia, Bhutan, and Italy in 1990.

He won the Advertiser of the Year award at the Cannes-Lion International Advertising Festival in 1993.

He was appointed as chairman of the board of the Ando Foundation, as well as chairman of the World Instant Noodles Association (WINA) in 2007.

In 2008, he took the position of CEO and representative director of Nissin Foods Holdings Co., Ltd.

He currently holds positions as chairman of the Japan Association for the World Food Programme, and member of the Shokuiku (Food and Nutrition Education) Promotion Committee of the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan.
