The Club Hemingway’s Casa Club is a large, beautiful house with the architecture and plant life totally in keeping with old West-Indian estates. Inside the club is a small library or reading room; a conference room with modern audio-visual equipment; an exhibition room; games rooms for chess players, cards or dominos; a wine cellar with a valuable selection of wines; and the “Hemingway Café” which includes all sorts of activities from just having a drink to watching a Spanish football league final.
Close by the Casa Club is the little chapel of the Sacred Hearts, with a style merging in with the churches of old Santo Domingo. The park which surrounds the chapel is an ideal spot for a stroll, and concerts and other events are held there on set days.
