In recent years, we have accelerated our global expansion efforts, while undertaking new businesses in fields other than textiles, such as the solar cell-related business.
In the future, Suminoe Textile will continue taking on new challenges as a pioneering manufacturer in the industry.
Background
Suminoe Textile was founded by rice dealer Denshichi Murata, who opened the Murata Factory in 1883 in Osaka. Originally started as a side business in a private household, this small factory for manufacturing hand-woven carpets was soon receiving orders for interiors for railway cars and ships, and even for the Imperial Diet Building, heralding the dawn of Japan’s interior decoration industry.
Suminoe Textile has continually endeavored to realize technical advancements throughout our 130-year history, and under our thorough quality management, we have pursued the creation of better products.
