History:

1941. Established Miyagi Chemical Industry in Wakabayashi, Sendai City. Began producing gelatin from various marine sources.

1949. Began manufacturing photographic gelatin.

1953. Developed and launched the premium household gelatin brand "JELLICE".

1962. Launched the "A-U" series of gelatin for commercial food use.

1999. Developed and launched the "CTP" series of cosmetic raw materials.

2001. Obtained ISO 9002 certification.

2003. Changed the company name to JELLICE Co., Ltd. Developed and launched the health supplement "Collagen Tripeptide".

2009. Relocated the headquarters factory to Tagajo City.

2011. The Great East Japan Earthquake occurred.

2013. Completed "JELLICE Town Wakabayashi", a commercial facility on the site of the former Sendai Wakabayashi headquarters factory.

2019. Launched a functional food product.

Our business in America has traditionally been more B2B; now we are trying to shift to a B2C model with original products sold through Amazon. These products include a moisturizing serum, and this lineup is set to be launched very soon.

The move is part of an ambitious new program to coincide with the company’s 100th Anniversary: “I would like to offer as many different options as possible,” Mr. Inai confirms. “Obviously, this wouldn’t be limited to Japan: Jellice is looking to make a global impact with all its collagen-related products.”
