Business Description

Since Tiger Corporation was founded in 1923, we have continued to deliver accessible household products for daily living. It all started with glass vacuum bottles and went on to expand to rice cookers, stainless steel beverage containers, electric water heaters, and other cooking appliances. Since 1923, with the strength of our vacuum insulation technology and other creative products we introduced, we have been able to deliver convenience and comfort to our customers in a variety of everyday scenarios.

Tiger Corporation’s Head Office and production facilities are located in Osaka, Japan. We have a global network of distributors so our products are used throughout the world.

 

Background

After its establishment in 1923, Tiger Corporation was revived after World War II and strived to use its innovative technology in vacuum insulated products. Now Tiger plans to share this technology by placing many branches throughout the world. As a family-owned business, Tiger keeps the mission (“Spreading joyous harmony throughout the world”) as a core principle within the company.

Tiger Corporation’s sales and production facilities in emerging markets in Asia, as well as in developed markets, the USA and Europe, speedily respond to the market needs in each area. As of 2014, Tiger brand products are sold in around 60 countries around the world.

 

Industry

Our range of products provides warmth in many sections of daily life, from the kitchen and dining room to the outdoors. We have small electrics for the kitchen, commercial products for the food industry, and vacuum stainless steel products for on-the-go beverage or food storage.

 

Location

Tiger Corporation is expanding its locations into developing nations, mainly in Asia. We currently have sales offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the U.S.A. and India. In November 2012, operations commenced at our new production facility in Vietnam, our second overseas production base after Shanghai.

 

Company Goals & Objectives

The vacuum bottle, which is the origin on which this company was founded, is a product that not only functions to keep drinks warm; it plays the role of a magical tool that warms the hearts of those who drink from it.

Even though times may change, our goal remains the same. Tiger Corporation will always continue to help put smiles on people’s faces so they can share their smiles with others, which will help people create happy and comfortable lifestyles. Highlights

1923: Torajirushi (Tiger) Vacuum Bottle Company is created in Osaka, Japan by Takenori Kikuchi.

1945: Business is suspended due to the factory being destroyed in the Osaka air-raids during WWII.

1946: Business is resumed.

1953: Name was changed to Tiger Vacuum-Bottle Industry Co. Ltd.

1963: Tiger's home office and factory moved to its current location in Kadoma City, Osaka.

1983: Name was changed to Tiger Vacuum Bottle Co, Ltd.

1999: Yoshisato Kikuchi was appointed president.

2002: TIGER CORPORATION U.S.A. was established in Torrance, CA.

2006: Tiger became the first in the industry to release an IH rice cooker with a ceramic inner pot.

2012: Tiger Vietnam was established.
