Akuku Farm Seeds Ltd got started by a great need of sorghum in the region. A group of expert researchers in Soroti, were in charge of the breeding of Serena “ the foundation seed”. After a long process of investigation in different areas such as isolation, post-harvest processes, transportation and storage, the founder of the company Mr. Isiagi Stanslas was able to purchase the seeds and succesfully grow them. Followed the distribution of it in the near by areas at a moderate rate.
Akuku Farms focuses mainly on cowpeas, green gram, and groundnut. Every 2 years, the breeders release another variety with better conditions.
Currently, the company is dealing with the entire Teso sub-region, distributing various crops based on the capacity of each farm.
