Top business executives from around the world met in Ankara on September 3-5 at the largest ever B20 conference.
The high-profile event marked the completion of the development of this year’s B20 recommendations, which will be transmitted to the G20 ahead of the Leaders’ Summit in Antalya in November 2015.
President Erdoğan declared in his opening speech at the conference that Turkey would support the B20’s recommendations at the Leaders’ Summit.
Representing the global business community, the B20 is one of several feed-in groups given extra prominence this year by Turkey’s G20 Presidency.
Recommendations put forward by the B20 were aimed at fostering inclusiveness, enhancing competition, correcting imbalances, and implementing agreed policies on trade, financial reform, and transparency.
In line with the principle of inclusiveness, which is guiding Turkey’s G20 Presidency this year, the B20 conference hosted 1,242 guests representing a total of 68 countries.
“The B20 is the most inclusive of all G20 engagement groups and the regional consultations and events organized by B20 Turkey have made the B20 the most important business platform in the world," says President Erdoğan.
Under the leadership of M. Rifat Hisarciklioglu, B20 Turkey has attempted to raise the profile and influence of the group to new heights. More than 5,000 business leaders will visit Turkey throughout 2015 to discuss the future of the global economy
The B20 Summit will be held in Antalya on November 13-15.
