Francisco Shaw Thompson has continuously maintained a strong performance in logistics and offshore rig operations for various minor and major companies. Mr Thompson has the ability to lead with a great level of oversight responsibility for multiple projects within high pressure environments. He is also highly knowledgeable in project planning and management, logistics management, contract negotiation and estimating. He is capable of forging critical internal and partner alliances, resolving critical path issues, mitigating risks, and delivering quality projects on schedule and within budget. Mr Thompson is an excellent communicator and problem solver, with proven supervisory and mentoring skills.
Education
Born in Malabo Equatorial Guinea, Mr Thompson went to Luba Comprehensive Secondary School, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, Nigeria. Later, he furthered his studies at Kwara Polytechnic, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria, where he acquired a Diploma in Law and HND in Public Administration, and at Brooklyn Business Institute, New York, USA, where he acquired a Diploma in Logistic Management. He is a self-motivated individual with a clear focus and has shown consistent performance for more than 15 years in logistic and services business.
Experience
As an offshore rig operator, Mr Thompson worked with Santa Fe Drilling Company in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. As a logistic coordinator he has worked with R&B Falcon Drilling Company. In addition, Mr Thompson has worked with Halliburton Incorporation Equatorial Guinea as their Travel and Accommodation Coordinator, and SBM Serpentine as the Assistant Logistic Manager. He is also a Managing Partner of Batoni Energy Company (BEC), one of the fastest growing consortium consultancies, based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
After working for other companies and gaining experience, he decided to set up Grupo Franmar in 2009. The company has worked with the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure on:
(a) Luba road maintenance;
(b) Oyala (Bata) EG government palace project;
(c) Sipopo new city building project.
Grupo Franmar is specialized in supplying construction materials, and has become a valued partner for industry and the public sector.
Mr Thompson was featured in Foreign Affairs magazine (May-June) 2011 and also interviewed by Smart Money, a Wall Street Journal magazine, in September 2011.
