Business Description

Wasteserv manages waste by maximizing the extraction of good quality recyclable materials and by generating renewable energy as part of our sustainable contribution to the Maltese islands.

Wasteserv is a member of the following networks:

  • CIWM (Chartered Institution of Wastes Management);
  • ACR (Association of Cities and Regions for Recycling and Sustainable Resource Management);
  • ACR+ Med  (A learning and exchange platform for local and regional authorities (LRAs) in the Mediterranean, created within the ACR+ network);
  • PR Club (A platform for exchange and debate about extended producer responsibility in Europe amongst key stakeholders and experts);
  • ISWA (The International Solid Waste Association, a global, independent and non-profit-making association).

 

Background

Established in November 2002, Wasteserv is responsible for organizing, managing and operating integrated systems for waste management, including integrated systems for minimization, collection, transport, sorting, reuse, utilization, recycling, treatment and disposal of solid and hazardous waste. The company also operates integrated systems for the export of wate to destinations outside the Maltese islands.

Education is at the very core of Wasteserv’s endeavors, so it is important that we have a clear path for communication. Our ultimate aim is to encourage people to make waste management an integral lifestyle practice, and we believe that our objectives will help us to get our message across in a strong and defined manner.
