Business Description
Nitta Gelatin has long endeavored to internationalize as Japan's largest, as well as Asia's leading gelatin manufacturer. At present, our production volume of gelatin ranks fourth in the world, with overseas sales accounting for roughly 50% of total sales in fiscal year ended March 2016. Furthermore, the fact that the main front for business competition in gelatin is increasingly shifting to our home market in Asia presents a great window of opportunity from our perspective. Our mission therefore is to compete successfully on the international market as Asia's largest and only global gelatin specialist company.

Highlights
During almost 100 years history, we had two biggest milestones that brought us to a crisis of close down. First is Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy. Because of this disease, we were forced to stop using North American bovine bone, the main raw material for gelatin for edible application. (Condition already returned to the normal state and currently we can use bovine bone.) Second is digitalization of photos. Due to this trend, demand for the photographic gelatin which was our flagship product drastically decreased. While we experienced these crises, we could shift application of gelatin over edible use or pharmaceutical use because every employee was always with a sense of crisis and working based on our corporate philosophy which is realization of employees’ happiness by employees.
