[Press Release] January 21, 2026
Youngone Trading Group announced on the 21st that, in cooperation with Sookmyung Women’s University, it supported a global experiential program inviting to Korea the daughters—female university students—of local employees working at its business sites in Bangladesh and Vietnam. The participating students will experience Korean culture firsthand and take part in industry and university exchange programs over an 8-day/7-night itinerary from January 19 to 26.
The program was designed as part of a development-fund project that Youngone Trading Group has supported at Sookmyung Women’s University. It aims to expand access to educational and cultural opportunities for the families of local employees working in overseas production hubs. In particular, it was structured to help female university students in developing countries—who tend to have fewer opportunities for international travel—broaden their global perspective and cultural awareness by experiencing Korean culture on the ground.
Participants will stay in the Sookmyung Women’s University dormitory and join a range of cultural activities, including a taekwondo experience, K-POP dance classes, and a visit to Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon. They will also visit Youngone Trading Group headquarters, where they will receive an introduction to the company and hear about its business operations. The full schedule will be accompanied by URINK, Sookmyung Women’s University’s Global Buddy leadership group, and student-to-student exchange is expected to take place naturally throughout the program.
A key distinguishing feature of the initiative is its focus: invitees are not the children of Korea-based employees or the families of overseas expatriates, but rather the daughters—female university students—of local employees working at the Bangladesh and Vietnam sites. The program was 마련됐다 (established) with the intent of fostering exchange with the families of employees at overseas operations.
One participant said, “Because my father has worked at Youngone for a long time, Korea felt familiar,” adding, “Experiencing Korean culture firsthand gave me a sense of pride, and living with Korean students and seeing industrial sites directly was also very impressive.”
A Sookmyung Women’s University representative stated they hope the students from Bangladesh and Vietnam will gain firsthand exposure to Korea’s culture and industrial landscape, and that the program will serve as an opportunity to develop new perspectives through the university–business connection.
Seong Rae-eun, Vice Chairwoman of Youngone Trading Group, said, “Even in an era when global exchange has become part of everyday life, opportunities to travel abroad are not equally open to everyone,” and added, “I also extend my gratitude to Sookmyung Women’s University for creating a meaningful opportunity for the children of the Youngone family.”
Meanwhile, Youngone Trading Group operates a range of policies and programs for employees and their families, and it was recently recognized as a family-friendly certified company.
