The access gate to the new era of doing business in the energy sector

Two years after the energy reform totally overhauled the Mexican energy industry, Mexico has been called on to have its own voice in the increasingly complex global energy scenario. This voice will be strongly heard for the first time at the Energy Mexico Oil Gas Power 2016 Expo & Congress, the leading event in the Mexican energy industry, which is taking place on January 26, 27 and 28 at the Centro Banamex convention center in Mexico City.

Energy Mexico 2016 will host the very first energy council on this side of the Atlantic Ocean. Its timely proximity to the World Economic Forum (on January 20-23 in Davos, Switzerland) makes this event the ideal forum to discuss the complexity of the current international and geopolitical energy situation, and the fundamental changes that are affecting it (such as the recent adoption of the Paris Agreement in the COP21), as well as the increasingly wide range of opportunities and challenges that Mexico faces in this scenario. In addition, the new Mexican energy sector does not sleep. After successfully celebrating the very first international public oil auctions following 70 years of state monopoly, this year will begin with the fourth auction, which is now focused on deepwater fields. Likewise, new pipelines will be auctioned. Thus, this activity is forming a new business environment full of new opportunities for private sector companies. As such, Energy Mexico 2016 has been configured as a comprehensive event.
