FESA recognises the importance of culture in people’s lives and supports events that bring music, dance, cinema and theatre to Angolans. In 1998, it started the FESA Kutonoca concert festival, held every year in Luanda. The Mega Show, as it’s called, has brought famous local and international artists together in Angola’s capital one day a year for a decade.
Promoting health through cycling
Encouraging participation in sporting events is a good way to improve people’s health and to promote a healthy lifestyle. FESA sponsors a bicycle race through Luanda, from the Mausoleum of Agostinho Neto, Angola’s first President, to the Largo da Independencia square. More than 150 riders participate in the event.
FESA Cup draws teams from across Africa
FESA sponsors a variety of sporting events, among them the popular FESA Cup, a football tournament for under-21 players held annually in the Coqueiros Stadium in Luanda. Teams from various African countries come to the Angolan capital every August to participate, with Luandans coming out in droves to cheer on the national side.
