Experience:
Shinji Umehara joined Hotel Okura Co., Ltd. in 1983 and has built a distinguished career within the Okura Group, including international experience at Hotel Okura Amsterdam and The Okura Presitige Taipie.
He was appointed General Manager in 2012 in recognition of his achievements as a director in leading the preparations for the opening of the Okura Prestige Taiwan at the Taiwan Sun Moon Lake Project.
In 2015, the reconstruction project for the Hotel Okura Tokyo was announced, and he was appointed as Hotel Okura Tokyo Redevelopment Project Office Director. Subsequently, in 2019, he led the team as General Manager of the Okura Tokyo upon its opening.
Appointed President, Representative Director of Hotel Okura Tokyo in June 2022, he now oversees overall hotel operations and strategic direction in line with the Okura philosophy of refined Japanese hospitality.
