The hotel comprises two complementary brands: The Okura Heritage Wing (140 rooms), which preserves the refined aesthetics and spirit of traditional Japanese hospitality, and The Okura Prestige Tower (368 rooms), a 41-story tower offering panoramic city views from guest rooms located on the upper floors.
With a total of 508 guest rooms, 5 restaurants, two bars, and 19 banquet and meeting venues—including the 2,000-square-meter Heian Room—The Okura Tokyo delivers comprehensive luxury hospitality services encompassing accommodation, dining, events, and wellness.

History:
The Okura Tokyo, originally opened in 1962 as Hotel Okura, was founded as part of a business initiated by the Okura family with a strong commitment to contributing to Japan’s international hospitality. From its inception, the hotel was designed around the principle of understated refinement, a concept rooted in traditional Japanese aesthetics dating back to Heian Period the 8th through 12th centuries. Throughout its history, Hotel Okura has served as a distinguished venue for welcoming international dignitaries, state guests, and prominent figures from around the world, earning a reputation as one of Japan’s leading hotels for official receptions and high-profile occasions. These enduring values of refinement, harmony, and hospitality were carefully preserved in the comprehensive redevelopment of the property, culminating in the reopening of The Okura Tokyo in 2019. The rebuilt hotel continues the Okura legacy while integrating contemporary design and modern functionality to meet global standards.
The Okura Tokyo received a five-star hospitality rating for a third consecutive year in the 2025 Forbes Travel Guide. The Okura Tokyo is the only grand hotel in Japan with more than 500 guest rooms to have achieved five-star status.
