TSUTAYA transferred to newly spun-off subsidiary Brass Media Corporation, with 80% of shares transferred to NIPPON SHUPPAN HANBAI INC.

(The remaining 20% of the shares were transferred to NIPPON SHUPPAN HANBAI INC. in March 2015, and the company was removed from BOOKOFF CORPORATION’s scope of equity method accounting.).

2015

Canceled HARD OFF franchising agreement with HARD OFF CORPORATION Co., Ltd.

Acquired all shares of franchisee Booklet Co., Ltd., making it a wholly owned subsidiary.

Established BOOKOFF OKINAWA, inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary) for further operation of BOOKOFF stores in Japan.

2016

Acquired all shares of Booklog, Inc., making it a wholly owned subsidiary, for the purpose of operating a community book review website in Japan.

Acquired capital stake in and made subsidiary of BOK MARKETING SDN BHD, established by KOIKE MALAYSIA SDN BHD based on triparty agreement by shareholders of BOOKOFF CORPORATION, KOIKE CORPORATION LIMITED, and KOIKE MALAYSIA SDN BHD, for the purpose of operating reuse shops in Malaysia.

BOK MARKETING SDN BHD opened reuse shop Jalan Jalan Japan in One City Sky Park mall in Malaysia.

2017

Acquired all shares of franchisee Manas Co., Ltd., making it a wholly owned subsidiary.

2018

hugall, Inc. merged with BOOKOFF Online, Inc., with BOOKOFF Online, Inc. as the surviving entity.

Established BOOKOFF GROUP HOLDINGS LIMITED as pure holding company (wholly owning parent company) via an independent share transfer from BOOKOFF CORPORATION LIMITED, which became a wholly owned subsidiary.

2019

BOOKOFF Minami Kyushu was established to operate domestic BOOKOFF stores.

BOOKOFF Online, Inc. was absorbed by BOOKOFF CORPORATION LIMITED.

Reuse Connect Co., Ltd. was absorbed by BOOKOFF CORPORATION LIMITED.

Acquired all shares of Jewelry Asset Managers Inc. and Aidect Hong Kong Limited., making them wholly owned subsidiaries.

2020

Opened Japan TCG Center Kichijoji-eki-kitaguchi Store, BOOKOFF Group’s first store devoted solely to trading cards.

Moved from Tokyo Stock Exchange 1st section to the Prime Market due to the review of the Tokyo Stock Exchange market divisions.

2023

Upgraded functions of the “hugall fashion” EC website and relaunched the website using the “rehello” brand, selling designer and luxury brand merchandise, collective goods and other items.

Announced support for the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures).

Formulated a green loan framework and conducted the first green loan financing in the reuse industry.

2024

Established J&K TRADING LLC in Kazakhstan, the BOOKOFF Group’s first jointly venture.

J&K TRADING LLC opened the Group’s first directly operated store in Kazakhstan, Jalan Jalan Japan Aksai.
