  • Secured the ‘Official Tour Operator’ (OTO) status from Sri Lanka Cricket for the England Cricket tour to Sri Lanka – 2007. Successfully marketed the rights in United Kingdom and appointed eight (08) large sports tour operators as its ‘Official Tour Agents’ (OTA) and attracted an unprecedented number of Cricket enthusiasts (over 6,500) to tour Sri Lanka in support of the English Cricket team. The whole process of OTO arrangement, acquisition of rights and marketing was conceptualised and negotiated by me.

  • Headed the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup and the ICC Champions Trophy Tournaments held in Sri Lanka, in years 2000 and 2002 respectively. Instrumental in identifying and securing several new revenue lines for Sri Lanka Cricket.

Two years                        Manager, Business Development - Mountain Hawk Express (Pvt.) Ltd.,/ FedEx Inc. USA. (A franchisee). Successfully marketed the brand (during the re-branding process, from Federal Express to FedEx) and its services, which had the innovative tracking system to compliment and challenge the competitors. I won a familiarisation tour to FedEx village in Memphis, Tennessee – 1994. Instrumental in introducing  ‘The Packaging Store’ concept to FedEx in 1994 and see that specialised packaging services being offered globally as an incentive to FedEx clients, as well as a measure to cut costs of FedEx from damage claims.

 

 

 

Six years                           Market Analyst – Mercantile Credit Ltd. (This was the first finance company in Sri Lanka to reach a deposit level of One Billion Rupees).
