Serge Kajeguhakwa is Executive Chairman of Energy Resources Petroleum Ltd (E.R.P.) a Rwanda registered oil trading company and a major supplier of white and black products such as premium motor spirit, automotive gas oil, heavy fuel oil and light fuel oil to the Rwandan market and across Central Africa.

He is also Chairman of Sedec Energy Limited, registered in Nigeria as a fully integrated, value-driven energy company focused on value creation, preservation and extraction, with a major interest in the oil and gas industry, primarily oil trading, shipping, and exploration & production activities.

Sedec Energy is presently trading in West Africa and international markets. It procures and trades a broad range of petroleum products, such as crude oil, fuel oil, gasoline, gasoil and kerosine.

He is a seasoned energy expert who has held several leadership positions in the past, and has 20 years of experience in the energy sector.

Business Development Officer at Oando Plc

Major activities and responsibilities

  • Develops a good understanding of the fundamental drivers of business value creation within the gas and power industry/business, and within the context of the Oando Group of Companies.
  • Conducts technical and analytical research/studies of energy usage trends in the Nigerian market and other relevant economies; also prepares company, industry, competitor and economic outlook analytical reports and briefing notes.
  • Makes summaries of research conducted to aid decision-making efforts.
  • Uses relevant data on gas and electricity demand, power cost, rates etc. to develop basic/fundamental assumptions for financial models.
  • Develops/builds financial models for determining/capturing the required capital structures for potential transactions based on underlying business assumptions identified.
  • Maintains/documents revisions to financial models and other business documents.
  • Analyses data gathered on potential revenues, margins, profits etc., and draws useful insights into current and potential business issues as opportunities are identified; makes appropriate recommendations for business structure, contracts and various deals/business transactions.
  • Develops marketing pitches, new business proposals and other forms of communications to external parties.
  • Supports the Business Development Unit in the preparation and presentation of pitches to close new deals.
