Omar Dorra is the Managing Director for Dorra Developments and Executive Board Member for Dorra Group. He has the responsibility of overseeing, directing and envisioning the entire group’s real estate development activities within Egypt and the Gulf.
Background
Straight out of university he embarked on his first major real estate development, providing the West of Cairo with a landmark residential project offering the community over 700 residential properties. Following that success and spearheading the concept of gated communities in the West of Cairo, he has since been the driving force behind the group’s aggressive expansion into several mixed use developments, servicing the West of Cairo’s growing population’s demands as well as the North Coast of Egypt. His ability to constantly evolve communities as well as raise the standards for credible, quality-driven developments have been at the core of his activities. Today, Dorra Developments is synonymous with delivering high quality, premium-located properties that greatly appeal to both the primary and secondary market place.
Education
Mr Dorra spent his earlier years studying at the University of California in Los Angeles then later graduated from the American University in Egypt, receiving his BA in Economics (June 2002).
Experience
Starting effectively from 2003 up to 2008, Omar Dorra was assigned as the managing director of the real estate arm of the group based in Cairo, Egypt, and Dubai (UAE). During this period he managed to restructure the real estate sector to act on a corporate basis according to international standards, which in turn had a highly positive impact in enhancing the operations process within all levels of the group and facilitated the decision-making steps as well.
In 2005, Mr Dorra managed to establish the real estate development arm of the Dorra Group in the United Arab Emirates. Since 2005, the company has invested and co-developed many mega-projects within the UAE such as the Dorra Bay residential tower, Silverine residential tower, and Plaza Residence residential complex, and many other projects in the pipeline.
Mr Dorra has started to manage the group’s new real-estate projects such as Greens, The Villa, Capital Business Park, American International School (AIS), Youth National Housing, and many more mega-projects. The success of Omar Dorra goes as far as analyzing the Canadian real-estate market and its opportunities for the launch of the Dorra Group branch there, as a broader vision for the group.
