Murat Ersoy was born in 1968 in Istanbul. In 1987, after his graduation from Istanbul German High School, he founded Etstur together with his twin brother Mehmet Ersoy in 1991. Murat and Mehmet Ersoy continued growing in hotel management and in the tourism sector, while they also managed to carry Etstur from zero to the top in the tour-operating field. Today, Etstur is the leading tour operator in Turkey, with a 70% market share. Etsgroup owns a total of 12 five-star hotels: seven Voyage, three Lamer and two Maxx Royal properties located in Bodrum and Antalya with a total bed capacity of 12,000.
By acquiring 50% of the shares in Atlasjet, in April 2004, Etsgroup joined forces with a major European tourism company, Öger Tours, to take a role in the aviation sector. In February 2006, the Ersoy brothers acquired entire shares of Atlasjet and in 2015 rebranded it as Atlasglobal Airlines. Thanks to its fleet range and successive projects, Atlasglobal has achieved the title of leadership among the private airlines companies in a short time.
Murat Ersoy is the President of Atlasglobal Airlines and he also holds the Chairman position at Etstur Executive Board.
Murat Ersoy has been the Chairman of TYD (the Turkish Tourism Investors Association) since April 2013, and he is a member of the High Advisory Council of ISGID (Istanbul Young Entrepreneurs Association). Mr. Ersoy also performed as Chairman of TÖSHİD (Turkish Private Aviation Enterprises Association) between December 2010 and December 2012, and has acted as the Chairman of ISGID between November 2009 and November 2011.
Murat Ersoy continues to create new visions in the tourism and economy sectors with the distinctive projects he creates, successful companies he manages, and new investments he makes.
