Background
The following year of the end of World War II, I coped with difficulties returning back from the northern Korean Peninsula to Japan. It was two months of hardship including seven days walking. Since I had been under economically disadvantaged status also after that, scholarship supports was needed to have graduated from a high school and a university.
In 2011, I established the Terayama Foundation at my own expense, which provides an educational supports for elementary school and junior high school students in Myanmar, and high school and university students in Japan. I believe that “education is the best solution to poverty, and it brings peace in the world”.
