Professor Mikio Yoshida was born in Kani City, Gifu Prefecture. After he graduated from high school, he was accepted into the College of Law at Ritsumeikan University and he graduated in 1972. Professor Yoshida continued his studies at the Graduate School of Law in Ritsumeikan University with the major in civil laws and he received his master’s degree in 1974 and his doctoral degree in 1977. He started teaching at Ritsumeikan University in 1990. In January 2015, he was elected as the president of Ritsumeikan University and the chancellor of Ritsumeikan Academy.
