Minister of Transport & Aviation
The Government of Sierra Leone
A veteran public servant with a career spanning almost four decades, Leonard Balogun “Logus” Koroma is an experienced member of the presidential cabinet.
Upon his appointment as Minister of Transport and Aviation in 2013, Logus Koroma made linking the Sierra Leonean economy to the world by both land and sea central to his policy objectives. Major projects have been undertaken to modernize port technology, with investment put into expansion projects to boost the attractiveness of the country to global maritime commerce. In the aviation sector, he has lobbied for more international air links with global carriers, and has championed the Mamamah Airport project which will see the construction of the country’s first airport on the mainland, spurring the development of a new airport city for international commerce.
Having lived abroad himself, Logus Koroma has worked to engage the diaspora in both the United Kingdom and the United States, encouraging Sierra Leoneans to make the same effort he did by applying their skills to the benefit of their home country any way they can.
