Jacques Mbadu is a Congolese politician and businessman, and the current governor of the strategically important Kongo Central province, the westernmost province of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the only one with access to the ocean.
Since Governor Jacques Mbadu began his current tenure in 2013, he has played an important role in the province’s drive to diversify its economy, overseeing $1.5 billion in foreign direct investment in the last three years alone in energy, industry, agriculture and other key sectors of the economy.
Prior to being elected governor, Jacques Mbadu operated a prestigious consultancy and a variety of other private businesses.
