Hiroshi Ohnishi, who joined Isetan Co. Ltd. in 1979, has extensive experience in menswear fashion and in 2003 he spearheaded a renovation of the company’s Isetan Men’s division, which is now widely regarded as one of the leading menswear stores in Japan. This renovation of Isetan Men’s brought sensationalism to Japanese men’s fashion.
Since Hiroshi Ohnishi was assigned as CEO of Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings in 2012, his focus has been “providing/sharing new value with customers” and “creating a positive and friendly working environment for employees.”
He has tried to restructure the supply chain because his belief is Isetan Mitsukoshi Group should sell merchandise that has a good balance between value and price. Also, he focuses on Isetan Mitsukoshi Group’s expansion of Japanese goods, culture and sense to all over the world as one of the leading Japanese department stores. Not only does he plan to distribute traditional goods as they are, but he also arranges and expands contemporary Japanese culture and sense.
