Chua Min Chu is the Vice-Chairman of SWEE, Brunei, part of the Goldentree Group of Companies. He came to Brunei from Singapore more than 40 years ago to establish SWEE Sendirian Berhad, and it is now one of the oldest Bruneian civil engineering and construction companies.
Information
- Swee has a long and proven track record of professionalism, expertise, accountability and dependability when carrying out the many national projects that it has undertaken over the years. Swee is a pioneer in the construction industry in Brunei, with many projects being the first of its kind in Brunei Darussalam, for example:
- the Sungai Tutong Scheme Phase I & II projects to ease the water rationing and improve distribution of water supply in the early 1970s
- the Construction of Brunei National Stadium in 1983
- the Construction of the Royal Pavilion and Hangar Superstructure & Annex Building in 1994
- Design and Build of Infrastructure Works at Sungai Liang Industrial Park (SPARK) in 2011
- the Modernization of Brunei International Airport Terminal (in collaboration with Trans Resources (B) Sdn Bhd) in 2012
- currently the Construction of a Bridge Link Across Brunei River from Kg. Sungai Kebun to Jalan Residency and Construction of Temburong Bridge – Package CC2 & CC3 (Joint Venture with Daelim).

What have been the main lessons you have learned in your career and how do you implement them in your management?
- Mr. Chua believes that good teamwork is the fundamental criteria for a company to grow, to improve and to sustain in order to be competitive in Brunei.
