Upon graduation from the Addis Ababa University with a B.Sc Degree in Civil Engineering, I joined the Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority as a Junior Engineer.
I served there at various capacity and positions and reached the position of Engineering Department Head.
I was then transferred to the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation, where I was assigned as Manager of the Gibe III Hydroelectric Power Project that has a designed generation capacity of 1870MW.
In addition to this responsibility, two years ago, I was appointed as the CEO of Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP), which is responsible for the construction and operation of generation, transmission, and substation mega projects. EEP is also tasked with electricity bulk sales to the retailer distribution company and export to neighboring countries and beyond.
I am also serving as Chair Person of the East African Power Pool (EAPP), which has nine member countries.
