Ali Ahmed Al-Kuwari has extensive business and finance experience, having joined Qatar National Bank (QNB) in 1988, after working at Qatar Petroleum for four years. He held various executive positions with QNB before his appointment as Group CEO in 2013, including Executive General Manager & Group Chief Business Officer – a post he held for more than six years, during which time he was responsible for QNB’s corporate, retail, assets and wealth management, treasury, and international divisions.
Education
Mr Al-Kuwari gained a Bachelor’s degree in Math and Computer Science, with a minor in Philosophy, from the Eastern Washington University, USA, in 1984. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Information System Management he gained from the Seattle Pacific University, Seattle, Washington, USA, in 1987. In addition, Mr. Al-Kuwari has also attended various Executive Programs at Wharton Scholl of Business, London Business School, Cambridge University and Duke University.
