Vision/Mission
“Increase tourism in Tohoku through regional cooperation”
Our aim is to attract more tourists from home and abroad in cooperation with various companies and administrative agencies in the Tohoku region.

 

Business Description
We welcome companies and administrators who share our ambitions, and are working to revitalize Tohoku through tourism.

 

Background
In 2007, the Tohoku Tourism Promotion Organization was established to promote tourism (from home and abroad), raise awareness of Tohoku, and encourage cooperation between administrative and private sectors.
The constituent organizations are the six Tohoku prefectural governments, the Niigata prefectural government, various regional economic organizations, and other related companies.

 

Products/Services
The aim of the non-profit Tohoku Tourism Promotion Organization is to educate tourists and those unfamiliar with Tohoku about its attractive sightseeing spots and how to access them.

Tohoku is a region filled with unique natural beauty which changes season to season, giving visitors reasons to visit multiple times in order to enjoy the full breadth of Tohoku’s vast variety.

Members: 163 groups of companies (six Tohoku prefectures, Niigata prefecture, Sendai City and other related organizations (July 2017))

Highlights
In 2007, the Tohoku Tourism Promotion Organization was formed as an unincorporated organization. For its tenth anniversary, the organization was incorporated on April 1, 2017 to expand and strengthen efforts.
