The Ministry of Public Utilities’ Strategic Plan was developed in alignment with the Government’s Framework for National Development. Our Ministry will focus on the ten under-mentioned strategic priorities over the period 2009-2012:

• Develop and implement an MPU Corporate Communications Plan;
   
• Develop Performance Indicators and Standards for the MPU;
   
• Develop and implement list of MPU Projects to be achieved by 2012;
   
• Develop a Human Resources Plan to ensure optimal use of human capital;   
   
• Leverage international technological advances to improve operational efficiency of the MPU;
   
• Develop Strategy for Agency involvement;
   
• Develop Performance Indicators and Performance Standards for Utility Sector;
   
• Ensure adherence to environmental standards in the implementation of all utility projects;
   
• Promote healthy Industrial Relations Climates in the MPU and in the Agencies;
   
• Develop and implement programmes to promote mental and physical health in MPU Employees.
