Background
We established KODENSHI CORP. in Uji, Kyoto in 1972. We began business with solar cells, and enlarged the business area to optical semiconductors, and photo sensors. We developed solar cells by using revolutionary semiconductor manufacturing technology, inspired by “Katazome (Traditional Silkscreen Printing Technology)” technology of Kyo-Yuzen. It enables us to create high-sensitive semiconductors at a much lower investment cost, compared with leading semiconductor manufacturers. In the 1980s, we started the telecommunication equipment business in Korea, then we established a factory in China. Among three different countries, Japan, Korea and China, we promoted the establishment of KODENSHI Group. Thanks to construction of the unique SCM, we managed to keep pace with rapid production development cycles of leading manufactures of home electronics appliances, and enlarged our business area. In line with the growth of home electronic appliances, we continued supplying many kinds of key parts and photo sensors for various products. For example, the infrared remote control receiver for TV, the Pick-up IC for CD & DVD, encoders for Printers, and so on.
