Business Description
We manufacture automotive parts and welfare products at 13 facilities in 10 countries all over the world. Domestically, we manufacture and sell the “walking bicycle” which is a motor assisted tricycle that is powered by the rider’s walking like motions on the pedals. Limited to the local area, we make and deliver handmade Japanese bento boxes for lunch and the evening.
Background
Mr. Kakuji Katayama started by himself in 1947 and became a president of Katayama Kogyo Co., Ltd. which was established in 1959. Katayama Kogyo started to supply door sashes and molding to Mitsubishi Motors in 1950 and Mazda in 1955.
Mr. Norio Katayama became the president in 1980 and promoted globalization. He obtained technical agreement with Woo Young of South Korea in 1978. He established Katayama American co., Inc.in Kentucky, USA in 1988 and made joint companies with Ingress group in Malaysia in 1994, Mr. Masayuki Katayama became the president in 2008.
