Business Description
We are a Japanese technology group and turn out products to the market. As a specialist atmospheric protection equipment manufacturer, we produce exhaust gas abatement equipment and deodorizing devices to industries such as the semiconductor, electrical-related, liquid crystal, printing, food and chemical industries.
Background
Kanken Techno was founded in 1978 and has a variety of techniques to process industrial exhaust gases (toxic gas, flammable gas, VOC gas, global warming gas) that affect life and nature. In particular, in the method of treating exhaust gases by oxidative decomposition, we developed abatement systems using electric heaters instead of common methods, such as using fossil fuels. The product was made in 1993 and is called the KT1000 series. It is equipped with electric heaters to treat toxic gasses used in the semiconductor industry.
Its features are:
1) No generation of CO2 gas; environment-friendly.
2) Most of the industrial exhaust gas can be treated.
3) Low operation costs.
This product is widely appreciated in the market and has been sustaining high market shares for more than 10 years.
In addition, our unique technology is treating gases by water scrubbing before the oxidative decomposition reaction furnace and we have a patent for the technology. This unique technology makes it possible to promote the reaction in the oxidative decomposition furnace, and also prevents the deterioration of the oxidative decomposition furnace. It puts us a long way ahead in the market, compared with other companies.
In the 2000s, we developed an abatement system with atmospheric pressure plasma to treat PFC (perfluoro carbon) gas, which is a global warming gas. It has been widely used, mainly in the semiconductor and liquid crystal industries. In 2013, we developed fixed-bed concentrated VOC abatement equipment without using conventionally/commonally used rotors. It attracts a lot of attention as the POU (point of use) of the VOC abatement system and the high-cost performance of the product has been recognized in the market.

Markets
We have products that are both POU (point of use) installed beside production tools generating the exhaust gas, and EOP (end of pipe) installed that collect the entire exhaust gas of the whole plant. That is the reason why we can optimize the best option for exhaust gas treatment, including energy saving. Especially, we can provide proposals to reduce running costs by re-using the energy of the exhaust gas itself in the markets where high-pressured gases are used (such as semiconductors) and a large amount of paint is used.
Industry
Specifically, we have the highest installation record and technology of electric heater-type and plasma-type exhaust gas abatement equipment, hence we have no equals in the field. In addition, we have more than about 10,000 units of global sales including the VOC deodorizing device. We have a lot of experience and knowledge with exhaust gas treatment.
Location
Our headquarters, R&D and the main factory are located in Kyoto, as is our Kyoto Protocol (COP3) birthplace, and there are 13 support offices all over Japan. There are mass production factories for overseas and other three support branches in Taiwan. China, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand have service support centers and sales bases. We can cover the entire Asia and have been expanding the network widely. Each support center deploys professional engineers in the fields.

We are expanding support offices all over Asia such as in Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, China and Singapore. We are increasing our market share with our experience in high technology and quality from Japan and Taiwan. We always develop products to meet the market demands, continue to benefit from high shares and improve our technology.
Financial Projection
In 2028, our long-term goal is 100 billion yen of total sales and 10% profit.
Company Goals & Objectives
We nearly had a 50% market share in the semiconductor and LCD markets in Asia in 2015. We want to grow to a similar level in the world market share by 2020.
Under the increasing demand of energy saving, we believe that it is possible to achieve our goal with our technology. Also, we are planning to enter and spread our business to the North American market from 2016.
Management
We have ISO9001 14000 certification, and we are creating products based on SEMI and ISO. It has a proper operation of the entire organization by the management headquarters’ Board of Directors. Moreover, there is the Engineering Division, Sales Division, Production Division, Logistics Purchasing Division and a Plant Division. With the aim of customer satisfaction, the CS Improvement Committee was established. Getting feedback from the market gives to increase the quality of our products and services.
Employees
We are a team of 760, with 300 people in Japan, 300 in Taiwan, 80 in China, 50 in South Korea, and 30 in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Everyone is involved in work related to the environmental protection of the atmosphere.
