In 1981 Gulf Glass Manufacturing co.(GGMC) Kuwait Shareholding Company commenced manufacturing Glass bottles vital for many industries in the domestic and regional markets. In start up phase GGMC had one furnace, production capacity 120 MT/day, about 43,000 Tons/year feeding two production lines of transparent flint glass bottles which were used mainly by carbonated drinks and beverages companies.
In 1991 GGMC plant went through massive renovation of all critical systems on site, furnaces and production lines and resumed production of the same capacity of 120 Ton/day.
Operations:
In 2004 GGMC accelerated the pace of development and improvements, with the support of Board of Directors we have diversified our product line by introducing new shapes of glass containers, different sizes and colors that respond to growing demand for various industries in the domestic regional and international markets.
This fast pace of development included:
Reconstruction of Glass melting furnace to increase production capacity to 200 MT/day, about 71,000 MT/year, with three new production lines replacing two old lines and adding one additional line.
A second Glass melting furnace was constructed with a production capacity of 120 MT/day, about 43,000 MT/year feeding two modern production lines. With the new furnace we commenced the production of green bottles which helped us diversify our production line and paved the way to a multitude of opportunities in served markets. The operation of second furnace in 2005 increased our Glass melting capacity to about 310 MT/day, about 114,000 MT/year. At this stage GGMC production is powered by two furnaces and five production lines.
GGMC is closely associated with all the major glass consumers in Kuwait, GCC Countries and far Middle East catering their demands of their satisfaction. The company, with ISO 9001 : 2000 certification, had maintained continuous growth since inception in 1981 and enjoys a high reputation as a supplier of quality and competitively priced products to abroad.
