Established in 2012, Energy Resources Petroleum Limited (ER Petroleum) is a Rwanda-registered oil trading company and a major supplier of white and black products – such as premium motor spirit, automotive gas oil, heavy fuel oil and light fuel oil to the Rwandan market and across Central Africa.
Some of its products are retailed through its wholly owned subsidiary Excel Energy Resources Trading Limited.
Its other subsidiary, Energy Resources Power Limited, is a Rwandan indigenous power utility company with a target of becoming the country’s premier provider of electricity solutions.
The company’s tank farm, located in the area of Kabuye near Kigali, has a combined capacity of 10 million liters and it operates a total of 80 operational trucks, of which 10 trucks are ER Petroleum owned.
It currently has 4 retail service stations in operation in Kigali, Rusizi, Rwagitima, Nyamata and Kayove, with another 10 to be established over the next 12 months.
ER Petroleum understands that climate change is a very serious problem that affects everyone. Furthermore, it recognizes that its own operations have an effect on the local and global environment due to the nature of its business.
In order to make a difference, it continuously improves its own environmental performances. It is also setting up a new tree-planting scheme to ensure that it does its best to safeguard the Rwandan environment.
ER Petroleum has operational presence in Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi and Zambia.
Total trade outside Rwanda was estimated be about 50,000MT at the end of 2016.
Total annual trade volumes were estimated to be 100,000MT for the year 2016.
