Equatorial Congo Airlines SA (ECAir) was founded with the support of the Congolese State with the aim of contributing to the modernisation of the air transport industry in Congo. Following the construction of the international Maya-Maya airport in its capital, the country wished to create its own new national airline. To do this, several close partnerships were developed with professionals from the air navigation sector. This was particularly the case with the German consultancy Lufthansa Consulting which provided its managerial and technical expertise, and with the Swiss company PrivatAir which provided its support in a range of operational phases.
To deliver this ambitious objective of creating a new national airline, the head of state, His Excellence Mr. Denis Sassou N’Guessou, was a proactive supporter, contributing his precious assistance to this lengthy project running from 2007 to August 2011. It was at this time that ECAir officially became your airline, with the launch of its first service, Brazzaville- Pointe-Noire / Pointe-Noire – Brazzaville.
