On October 24, 2007, by Supreme Decree No. 29318 of Public Enterprise National Strategic Boliviana de Aviacion is created - BoA, as a legal person in public law; indefinite duration; own assets; autonomy of administrative, financial, legal and technical management, under supervision of the Ministry of Public Works, Services and Housing.

Senior Management Boliviana de Aviacion - BoA is headed by a Board as decision-making body, with a General Manager who exercises the institutional representation, with the Maximum Executive Authority.

As of February 19, 2009 the Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) awarded certification to Boliviana de Aviacion - BoA as a big air national and international operator.

On March 23, 2009, the then Superintendent of Transportation issued the Administrative Resolution No. 0084/2009 Boliviana de Aviacion authorizing the provision of regular commercial aviation services. This authorization begins to commercial air operations.

On March 30, 2009, BoA started its operations with flights in the backbone of the country (Cochabamba, La Paz and Santa Cruz), as of June 19, 2009 operations to the city of Tarija began on September 5, 2009 en route to the city of Sucre and on December 2, 2009 the route to the city Cobija opened.

Continuing the expansion plan routes on May 14, 2010 the station and international Buenos Aires-Argentina route opened. On November 20, 2010 the inauguration of the station and route to Sao Paulo, Brazil takes place. On  December 6, 2012 International Station and Madrid-Spain route opened on May 15, 2014 to start operations on the route to Salta - Argentina and finally on June 6, 2014 operations start at Miami - United States.
